Nicole Richie is bringing back her reality comedy series, “Candidly Nicole” for the remainder of Season 2 beginning Thursday, February 11. The final 10 episodes of the hit comedy reality series’ second season will be released in three groups: the first episodes on Thursday, February 12; the second on Thursday, March 12; and the third on Thursday, April 2 on http://on.aol.com/candidlynicole.
Throughout the season, Nicole calls on her family to join her in on the fun, including brother-in-law Benji Madden, her sister Sofia Richie and superstar dad, Lionel Richie. Nicole also recruits close friend Rashida Jones on her mission to set a world record.
Classic TV Examiner had a chance to chat with the successful businesswoman and fashion mogul about that’s ahead for the rest of the season, her superstar dad Lionel’s reaction to the show and more. Check out the interview below:
Phyllis: So your dad, Lionel Richie, was a big hit on the show when he was teaching you to parallel park in the driveway. Can you share what is coming up with him?
Nicole Richie: I did an episode that focuses on old age and new medicine and that’s why I brought my dad in. He’s getting older and I want him to take care of himself so I bought in my healer Vickie who’s a dear friend of mine. We did some acupuncture on him, there was some fire involved and I think that the viewers will really respond to that.
Phyllis: What did your dad think of the first season of the show?
Nicole Richie: My Dad is…that’s kind of the nature of our relationship. He is a jokester, he’s a prankster. He’s down for anyone to have a good time, even if that means that he’s the butt of it. He and I are very much alike…like that and so he…I think my family in general, we all just love to laugh. And we are happy. We’re just having a good time with it.
Phyllis: I know that you also recruited Rashida Jones to help you set a world record. Can you expand on that?
Nicole Richie: I can. We want to set a world record. She is somebody who –- she’s my god sister, I’ve know her forever. She’s very smart. She’s a Harvard graduate and I went to U of A. So I feel like it only made sense that the two of us should set a world record.
Phyllis: What are you setting the world record?
Nicole Richie: You’ll have to watch for that.
Phyllis: You’re so busy with the fashion line, your kids and the show. What time do you get up in the morning to start your day.
Nicole Richie: I wake up around 5 a.m. and the reason I do that is so I can spend an hour alone at this point because my kids have to wake up at 6 a.m. I like to take that time alone. It’s really important for me for who I’m going to be during the day to kind of get aligned, get in touch with myself and prioritize for the day. I have to have that alone time.
