Nicole Richie’s House of Harlow collaborates with Revolve

Nicole Richie has joined forces with American fashion company Revolve to bring a new line of California influenced clothing. The House of Harlow 1960 x Revolve line features maxi dresses, slip dresses, playsuits, jumpsuits, midi skirts and bralettes and will be available from June 2nd exclusively on the respective websites. The Belfast Telegraph reports:

Nicole Richie is “extremely proud” of her designs for her collaboration between her label House of Harlow 1960 and American fashion company Revolve.

Nicole Richie was inspired by relaxed Los Angeles living when she was working on her latest fashion line.

The reality TV star and House of Harlow 1960 creative director has partnered with American fashion label Revolve, which is based in Cerritos, California, on a fun and flirty new collection.

While designing the line, Nicole was influenced by the climate and wide expanse of the region, and accordingly, the 20-piece collection reflects this.

House of Harlow 1960 x Revolve features maxi dresses, slip dresses, playsuits, jumpsuits, midi skirts and bralettes in a range of chic colours, including pale pink hues, navy and copper shades.

“We both are L.A. based and I thought it was important to celebrate that,” Nicole to WWD. “There are so many parts of being in L.A., from being outdoors and having all this space. I was really inspired by that.”

The ongoing collaboration will run for a year with new deliveries released monthly, which Nicole, 34, cites as an opportunity to really tap into new trends. The blonde beauty may also expand the current line with a new jewellery collection.

“I feel like I have a closer connection with the customer. There is no middle man. I’m extremely proud of this collection. I poured my heart and soul into it,” she said.

Revolve carries around 500 brands in its online store and also operates the FWRD by Elyse Walker luxury online shop.

Revolve vice president of brand marketing Raissa Gerona said the collaboration is a natural fit because House of Harlow and Nicole both “speak so well” to the existing Revolve customer.

With Revolve targeting sales of $600 million (£410 million) this year (16), Nicole was impressed with the corporate culture and drive of executives at the fast-growing fashion company.

“It’s like a fun party that you just want to be a part of and everybody there is just really excited. You don’t hear the word ‘no’ a lot,” she smiled.

The collection will be sold on the Revolve and House of Harlow websites exclusively beginning 2 June (16).

Nicole Richie’s main beauty advice: “You always want to feel like you”

E! News caught up with Nicole Richie at the CoverGirl x MTV’s Got You Covered event and got the scoop on her summer hair and of course the fashion and beauty trends she’s looking most forward to for fall.

As far as her cropped blond pixie, the style was a purposeful change for summer so Nicole could “swim” and not “have to think about upkeep.” (Makes sense!)

“My hairstylist, his name is Andy LeCompte—he’s been my best friend since I was about 18. He’s been collecting photos, before there was any of that [social media]. He has just a catalog of just so many different hairstyles,” she said. “How we work is it really depends on the condition of my hair. In his mind, it’s better to be short and healthy. You know when people have long hair and it’s two strands. My attitude about hair, is that it’s hair. You can get extensions, you can cut it, if you don’t like it you can always do something different.”

The star is definitely looking forward to fall, which, come September, includes her annual all-girls birthday trip and her son Sparrow’s [dad is rocker Joel Madden] sixth birthday.

“Fall is my favorite season for dressing, because I feel like that’s when I can be the most creative, and play with different layers, different constructions—[and] I love breaking out all my jackets. I try to wear them here, but I literally look crazy with all the heat. So I’m excited to get all the outerwear out,” she dished.

“I use everything for inspiration. If it’s a color of something, I take pictures of anything I like, and mark down what I like about it, what I’m drawn to about it. That’s the most fun part of fashion too. You just always have to have your eye open, because it will really surprise you how your eye changes and how your perspective changes, and how it affects you,” she continued.
“Even getting to know yourself more on that level, just being able to [identify things you love].”

And Nicole’s parting beauty advice is one we can take to heart.

“You always want to feel like you,” she said. Even when you’re sporting black lipstick, which happens to be the star’s latest makeup obsession. (Hey, if she can pull off unicorn hair for a year, she can certainly rock the vampy Rooney Mara lip.)
