Nicole Richie tells W Magazine she is “very excited” to be cast in ‘Great News’

Whilst at a party for House of Harlow x Revolve at the Revolve Social Club at The Hamptons, Nicole Richie gave a quick interview with W Magazine which you can read below or on their website here.

Although Nicole Richie first came into the public eye as Paris Hilton’s sidekick on the reality TV show, The Simple Life, she has since made a name for herself as a fashion and accessories designer and vintage lover. On Saturday, the mother of two was in the Hamptons, celebrating a collaboration between her brand, House of Harlow 1960, and e-commerce destination Revolve. “I’m from L.A. and so is Revolve,” she noted, explaining that the collection celebrates “a city that I love, the color palettes, the space and the air, and that overall Los Angeles feeling.”

But it was Richie’s former expertise, television, that was the most surprising topic of conversation. A few days earlier, Tina Fey cast the designer in her new sitcom Great News. Here, Nicole Richie opens up about her personal style, and how she feels about taking on a new challenge..

Daily uniform:
Right now its summer, so a slip dress and flats. I don’t want to feel like anything is touching me in this heat!

Style Inspiration:
I’m hugely inspired by the ’60s and the ’70s.

Favorite store in L.A.:
To be honest, I do a lot of shopping online, I just don’t have time. I feel like when I go to thrift stores and vintage stores and that type of thing, you really have to be there for that, you have to do it in person, but I’ve been doing a lot of online shopping.

Last purchase:
I’m decorating my house so all of my money and energy has been going. I look at the pricetag on a dress and think, ‘that can go toward a rug I really want’ so I’m really just prioritizing!

Lusting after:
Furniture. I’m a rug junkie.

Most prized possession in your closet:
My husband got me two pairs of vintage sunglasses and both of those are my favorites.

Music you’re listening to right now:
I don’t listen to new music, I love classic rock, ’90s hip-hop. I mean, being an L.A. girl, there is nothing like driving down Mulholland and listening to your favorite song, 30 times in a row.

How does it feel to be cast in Great News:
I’m very excited. I just found out two days ago. I’m in New York, not home, so it’s kind of a surreal feeling, I can’t wait to go home and celebrate with my family.
