Nicole Richie spoke to The Outfit about her House of Harlow collaboration with Revolve Clothing.

StyleWatch: How does this new collection differ from those of previous years?
Nicole Richie: It’s an evolution. You’ll still find the prints, peasant dresses and everything [the brand] stands for but also more fitted, tailored pieces. I love the mix.

What inspired the designs?
When I started this collection, I thought to myself, “What are my friends wearing?” My girlfriends are powerhouses—juggling lives and work but always down for a tequila shot at night. I wanted the collection to feel celebratory and effortless.

How do you decide what to wear each day?
It depends on the day! I’m out of the house by 7 every morning, so sometimes I just grab whatever is on my closet floor. It’s been a lot of jeans, sneakers and T-shirts. But if I have a day where I don’t have to be anywhere until 10, I can play with my wardrobe a little bit.

Do you have a summer uniform?
I like to feel like I’m not wearing anything in the summer, so I love a slip dress. That, and a good pair of fun vintage sunglasses.
