Nicole told Sunday Style/Telegraph that she has picked her outfit out already for the event, “but it will be a surprise.” She adds that she is “an Australian racing virgin, so it’s all new to me. Now, shoes? Shoes, I know about. Listen, I’m never opposed to a Cinderella golden slipper.”

As an ambassador for Toohey’s New Golden Slipper carnival, American designer and TV star Nicole Richie has shared her top fashion tips for the races ahead of her arrival in Sydney this week.
The 33-year-old daughter of legendary singer Lionel will celebrate the three-week event at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday and advised racegoers to: ‘Wear a comfy heel – it’s a long day!‘
She added: ‘Have fun with your look – add a splash of color, a fun hat or a great piece of jewellery (House of Harlow of course!)
‘The sun is very strong in Australia so I would try and keep my face protected with a hat….a fashionable one.’
Citing Toni Maticevski and Kym Ellery as her favourite Australian designers for race days, the mother of two and husband of Australian singer Joel Madden, says this year’s trackside trends are mid to full length hemlines.
‘Grey tones are big this season… And for millinery I’m loving tones of burgundy red and berry.’
The Simple Life star, who will judge Australian racegoers’ sartorial efforts at the event on Friday, added in a statement: ‘It is such an honor to be asked to come to Sydney for such an iconic sporting and social event.
‘The Golden Slipper Day is Sydney’s biggest race day and I look forward to seeing everyone trackside.’
