Hands up who loves Nicole Richie? After leaving the Simple Life in the dust years ago, Ms Richie has gone on to become a mum of two, and designer of two successful fashion collections: Winter Kate and House of Harlow 1860. We caught up with one of our favourite fashion creators – and muse – ahead of her spring collection for Winter Kate.
What are the key pieces from this collection?
There are so many! I have to say the Winter Kate Nymph dress, Etoile dress and the House of Harlow 1960 Chelsea sunglasses in grapefruit and the Jude clutch.
Was there a specific fairy tale that inspired you?
No specific fairytale, just the overall idea of a fairy tale. The whimsical fairytale influence can be seen within my choice of floating chiffons, loose cottons and soft silhouettes.
What are your favourite pieces from the line?
The Myth dress and Aurora bed jacket. The Myth dress with its stand-out floral print is stunning, and the Aurora bed jacket is one to wear during the weekend.
Talk us through your design process…
I always start with music and have photographs from my travels, paintings, tear sheets, and a whole lot of other things in the studio for inspiration and mood boards.
What are the 3 things in your wardrobe that you couldn’t live without?
My House of Harlow 1960 Chelsea sunglasses, a Winter Kate maxi dress and my vintage accessories.
Who’s style do you admire?
