RealNicoleRichie: First of all, thank you for this work of art, it’s awesome. And I do not currently play violin and cello, I do play piano, and I’m actually right now, I started taking lessons again because I don’t read music, my dad doesn’t read music and he’s the one who taught me, so I’ve been going by ear my whole life, and so I decided that I wanted to take the steps and learn how to read music and I’m not sure if I’m going to actually use it or not, but I never want to say no to learning more and I think when I was younger, I was probably afraid of it and didn’t necessarily need it, and I don’t know if I do, but I wanted to at least know how.——————————————————————————————————–

RealNicoleRichie: 1) Well, it’s hard to sum it up in one sentence because it is so many different things. If i had to say in one sentence, I would cheat a bit and say “It is a fun peek into the modern challenges of life / a comedy / a show where we’re getting people’s different perspectives / a destination for people who just want to laugh.”
2) that’s a hard one. probably I’m A Slave 4 U, just because I was a little bit older at the time, I was probably 18 and I remember the video being so big, her MTV awards performance being so big, and I Just remember everything at that time just seeming to make a big impact on my life!
3) I would love to. I am doing everything I can to live a balanced life. I don’t ever take on anything unless i can put 100% into it. I love music, I love singing, I love playing piano, right now House of Harlow is where my heart is and where my focus is, and I owe it to my customer to give them my 100% attention.

Who are your fashion icons?
Where does your inspiration come from?

RealNicoleRichie: 1) Well, a fashion icon to me is somebody who has, the first person who struck you and introduced you to the world of fashion, and that person is my mom. She was, and is, very fabulous in the 80s, she had the contacts and the bangs and the vintage Chanel bags and tight dresses, and she was going to every event with my dad, all over the place with my dad, and i would sit in her bathroom and watch her get ready, her hair & makeup and fittings, and i used to think “she’s so beautiful, that’s who I want to look like.” And that was my first introduction to the fashion world.
2) I’m hugely inspired by music. I am a big listener of 60’s and 70’s classic rock. And i really just love the overall freedom of that time, of the late 60’s and 70’s. I love that you had so many different ways of expressing yourself, fashion was really one of them, the idea of clashing didn’t exist, and people were using clothes as an opportunity to express who they were. That is inspiring to me – you could mix textiles, fabrics, you were 100% who you were, and that’s where my main inspiration comes from.
3) Well, I guess I wouldn’t be the full decider of that! But I didn’t necessarily my first 2, Joel and I are just very go with the flow, that’s how we have always been, so I guess we will just see.——————————————————————————————————–

RealNicoleRichie: Well, both my parents have given me great advice. They are from Alabama, they are not from LA, and they are both very hard workers, and they also have people around them who have been around them a very long time, and i think that’s a credit to how they treat people and how gracious & kind they are. They have really instilled in me to always, no matter what, to create around you an environment that is pleasant to be in and fun for everyone to be in, because at the end of the day, it’s what you create, and it’s important for you to create that space.——————————————————————————————————–

RealNicoleRichie: Well, the coolest part is that we actually get to go deeper into each thing that we are exploring, and I get to bring it not necessarily one person but multiple people in whatever subject i am talking about, and it’s just been such a fun experience and it’s cool because people already know what the show is. RealNicoleRichie: Joel’s friends with a lot of those guys. I’m really bad with the band names, to say exactly who they are, but Joel is basically friends with pretty much all of them. And i do listen to their music.——————————————————————————————————–

I’m a big fan of the 60’s and 70’s, so I love Janis Joplin’s Summertime, it’s one of my favorite songs, but I also love Shoop by Salt n Pepa. So my music taste doesn’t fall into one category. spicegirl92: Hi, Nicole! First of all, I love you! You’re so hilarious, you’re my style icon, and the growth and change you’ve made in life is inspiring. My question is, do you identify as a black woman? I’ve always found it interesting that people, at least in the urban media and community, don’t typically view you as a black woman or woman of color. Also, would you ever wear your hair curly?! I bet it would look awesome based on your throwback thursday pics!
RealNicoleRichie: I guess that’s a two part question. I would say that my experience in this world, and this is one of my favorite things about growing up in LA, the way that i was raised, there was no talk about race or religion, everybody was the same, and my dad’s a musician, there were people of so many different religions, there were gay people, there were so many different kinds of people in my house, and I was adopted, and everybody was welcome and special in my house. So i have never been in the position where I Had to stand up for myself or defend myself. I look as that as a very positive thing, and it’s one of my favorite things about growing up in LA, because then my kids won’t have to think like that. I think that’s a good thing. As far as wearing my hair curly, I’ve been blow-drying my hair straight for so long that i don’t even know what i would do, so I like it straight.——————————————————————————————————–
Omfgitskris: What was your favorite moment seen on the simple life?
How long have you been doing the tracy Anderson method and which move is the hardest for you? I just started metamorphosis and the dance cardio is killer!!
RealNicoleRichie: Good question. My favorite moment – season 3 was fun, because we were kind of near New York, so every few days we were able to step out for a second and go and see our friends who lived in the city, so that was a fun part of my life because I felt like the Simple Life was starting to come into my actual reality, and that was something that was really exciting.
Well, I don’t know how to describe the moves, but Tracy always knows how to challenge you and your body, which is a great thing, and I’ve been doing Tracy for about 4 years.——————————————————————————————————–
Falcon_Cum: Hey Nicole, you’re famous, but who is the most famous person you have ever met?
RealNicoleRichie: I don’t know, because I don’t know how to rate people by fame! But I can tell you some of the nicest people that I have ever met, and I would say one of them is Lionel, he is very nice, he is somebody I respect as an entertainer who is a genuine nice person and my dad is definitely one of those people. And Cher is a nice person too.

RealNicoleRichie: Meeting Michelle Obama was very big for me, she’s a huge inspiration for me. I met her last year. And she was relatable, incredibly warm, very nice.——————————————————————————————————–

RealNicoleRichie: I probably had the most fun challenging myself physically, so I got to play a little bit of baseball which is not a sport that I am great at, and I got to play it with a bunch of little kids which was even cooler because they are just so honest, you never know what is going to come out of the kids’ mouths, so the combination of the two was definitely memorable and exciting.——————————————————————————————————–

RealNicoleRichie: Well, I think that you’re in a very lucky time in your life, and you do have time to decide, and you need to listen to your heart and figure out what you’re the most passionate about. Balboa_Constrictor: How have you evolved as a person and changed (if at all) since the Simple Life first premiered?
RealNicoleRichie: Well, I can talk about my life, I can say that my life continues to evolve and change and that was before the Simple Life and then way way after, and I hope I continue to grow and evolve and change. And I stepped into The Simple Life in my 20s, and now I am 32, so I got to live all of my 20’s, I’m now stepping into my 30s in a completely different place in my life, and I will probably be in an even more different place 10 years from now.——————————————————————————————————–

RealNicoleRichie: Well, I just read a quote recently and it said “A good friend will help you move, and a best friend will help you move bodies.” And it’s so accurate – you want a friend whom you can call no matter what, who will have your back! I’m really lucky, I’ve had friends since I was 2 years old, they know me through and through, we support each other and don’t get jealous of each other, and if we want to talk shit, we talk shit in front of each other’s faces, because that is more fun.
And someone you don’t have to entertain, they can come over and you can just be a zombie together and they don’t require much.——————————————————————————————————–

RealNicoleRichie: Well, there’s a few. A gift from my mom, she gave me a piece of her jewelry, I was about 12 and I still have it, it’s a sapphire necklace. And my car was a big one. RealNicoleRichie: 1) My tattoo artist’s name is Mark Mahoney.
2) I mean, it really depends on the job, it’s very easy for me to say that i think everybody should just be treated how they’re supposed to be treated and tattoos shouldn’t come into play. But what if someone has an offensive throat tattoo that might affect someone’s business? I am sure there are a lot of opportunities out there for everybody.
3) Just keep practicing your craft, and then you start learning the actual business of producing also, to raise enough money to make good quality samples, and to always keep your ear on the ground and be open to learning and growing.——————————————————————————————————–

I like having both, and the good thing about hair is that it is hair, so if you want it short you can cut it, if you want it long you can get extensions or grow it out. RealNicoleRichie: honesty about who they are. People who try to be something they are not, the most attractive thing to me are people who are 100% authentically them. And I appreciate and actually always look for people that are different than me in friendships, because that helps me grow.——————————————————————————————————–

meepk: I am petite and even though I am almost 30, I still sometimes get self-conscious about it (esp when it comes to styling – though people like you and the Olsens have been a fashion inspiration – fit is key!). When you were younger, were you self-conscious about your petite height? Are you still?
RealNicoleRichie: I feel like I was one of the tallest in my class until 5th grade, and then it all just came to a screeching halt. Your body is your body and you gotta be comfortable with it. The plus size is we can wear short shorts because no one takes it offensively when it comes from somebody who is small. You can weasel your way out of a party because nobody can see you. And if you focus on the positives like that, everything else just falls to the wayside.——————————————————————————————————–

aq_mach1: Hey Nicole! Is it hard to balance life as as a celebrity and life as a mother? Do you feel you spend enough time with your children?
RealNicoleRichie: It’s hard, when I am talking to other moms, other working moms that aren’t necessarily in the entertainment industry, just other modern moms, and we are all trying to find the perfect balance, and I think that’s a very common struggle that mothers go through. When we’re at work, we want to be home, when we’re at home, we feel the need to be at work, and that’s just part of being a parent.
